| Clinic | Director of Clinics (1.0) | 2010-07-12 | | | | Responsible for the management of all activities that contribute to the operational, clinical, and business functions of the clinic. Coordinate the day-to-day clinic operations with the Clinical Operations Coordinator, including patient scheduling, registration and patient care activities. Work with supervisors to ensure that staffing and schedules are complete for the admissions/registration, clinical support staff, and physicians. Manage the hiring, involuntary termination, and yearly performance management functions for the clinic. Implement and measure best practices through CQI efforts and insure systems are in place for risk management purposes. Work with Sibley Medical Center’s Medical Director to implement guidelines for clinic improvement. Participate in the Sibley Medical Center Patient Satisfaction Program. Work with the Management Team to solve problems, implement and improve processes to enhance patient access and satisfaction. Evaluation of physician staffing levels per rural health clinic criteria. Participates in the recruitment of new providers including arrangements, site tours, etc. Coordinates new provider orientation and ensures necessary arrangements/requirements are met to enable provider to effectively deliver patient care. Participates in community relation health activities which includes, but is not limited to, immunization clinics, health fairs, service organizations, and patient care initiatives, etc. Handle any site survey visits from the state and insurance companies, performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned by administration.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
1. Experience working with multiple insurance companies and public payers.
2. Effective verbal and written communication skills
3. Understanding of clinical disciplines and issues
4. Sensitivity to multi-cultural population; facilitation and consensus/team building skills.
5. Computer literate.
Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications
1. High school graduate or GED required.
2. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably related to Healthcare Management/Administration.
3. Previous experience managing a clinic or physician’s office or 5 years progressive clinic supervisory experience preferred.
