Elaine Arion Named Ridgeview Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer

Elaine ArionElaine Arion, Director of Patient Care, Ridgeview Medical Center, has been named Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer. She assumed this new role on Jan. 1, 2016, and succeeds Pat Michaelson, who retired from Ridgeview after 31 years of service.

In her new role at Ridgeview, Arion is responsible for inpatient Nursing services, including Emergency Department and Operating Room, Home Care/Hospice, Pharmacy services/Anticoagulation Clinics, Social Services, Chaplaincy and Volunteer Services.

Arion joined Ridgeview in 2012 as director of Patient Care. She previously served as the director of professional services at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, where she led clinical workgroups tasked with research and development of tools and resources to support implementation of quality practices. While at Children’s, she served on the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) subcommittee, Baskets of Care and the MDH H1N1 influenza team to address residents’ needs during a pandemic.

Originally a Boston native, Arion moved to Minnesota in 1999. She completed her doctorate degree in nursing practice from Concordia University in December.
