A part of maintaining or improving the health of our patients is accomplished with medications. SMC Pharmacy strives to meet these needs. The Pharmacy Department is staffed with a consulting pharmacist who’s primary purpose is to plan, organize, develop and direct the PHARMACEUTICAL SERVICES in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, SMC’s established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the administrator.
A Registered Nurse/Pharmacy Technician also staffs the Pharmacy Department. This person is responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling the operation of the Pharmacy Department; ensures compliance with patient care quality standards; directs and controls the purchase and inventory maintenance of all pharmaceuticals and related substances/supplies; directs and participates in the department’s planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education and human resource management activities.
