Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center and affiliated clinics recognized for quality lab services

Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center and its clinic laboratories* received certificates of accreditation in April from COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. The Ridgeview Sibley sites sought accreditation from COLA to align with the same quality standards achieved among the other Ridgeview laboratories sites.

“Our service area is growing and we are dedicated to excellence in laboratory medicine at all Ridgeview sites to support diagnosis and treatment by physicians, nurses and other health care personnel,” says Dean Porter, laboratory director, Ridgeview Medical Center. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operation, demonstrate continued accuracy in performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.

COLA is a nonprofit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement, and accreditation. COLA is approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.
