SMC Announces Medical Staff Change

Arlington, October 21, 2008 – Sibley Medical Center announces changes in the medical staff, including the addition of Muhamed Durakovic, MD. Dr. Durakovic comes to Sibley Medical drsierra (5K)Center from his family practice in Iowa. With special interest in areas of obstetrics, pediatrics, preventative medicine and geriatrics, Dr. Durakovic will begin seeing patients in November. Dr. Durakovic states, “Medicine has allowed me to combine my passion in sciences and helping others from an early age. It is a profession that provides me the joy of learning every day.”  Dr. Durkovic’s 30 years of experience with family practice and focus on obstetrics and gynecology is a wonderful complement to the staff of Sibley Medical Center.

Another change to the SMC provider staff includes the modification of Dr. Dean Bergersen’s role and schedule as a medical provider, effective January 1, 2009. Dr. Bergersen will concentrate his time within the clinics four days per week and will refer patients who need hospital admission and rounding to other medical providers. Dr. Bergersen has built a strong family practice and continues to serve generations of families within Sibley County. For over 37 years, Sibley Medical Center’s patients have been fortunate to have access to Dr. Bergersen’s considerable medical expertise as a provider and welcome the additional focus on clinic patients.
