Hemonet (ORC)

Oxidised Regenerated Cellulose · Knitted, Fibril & Powder Formats
Hemonet is an advanced, sterile bioabsorbable surgical hemostat composed of 100% plant-derived Oxidised Regenerated Cellulose (ORC). Formulated to control capillary, venous, and small arterial intraoperative bleeding when ligation or conventional hemostatic procedures are impractical, Hemonet forms a viscous gel matrix upon contact with blood to initiate clot formation rapidly within 90 seconds.

Clinical Excellence & Safety

Engineered for Precision Intraoperative Hemostasis

Hemonet delivers documented clinical performance across demanding surgical procedures, backed by rigorous ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing and USP monograph compliance.

Rapid Hemostasis (<90s)

Saturates rapidly with blood, swelling into a brownish gelatinous mass that aids artificial clot matrix formation within 60 to 90 seconds.

Inherent Bactericidal Action

Maintains a low pH environment in-vitro, creating an effective antimicrobial barrier against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens.

Complete Enzymatic Absorption

Completely bioabsorbed via enzymatic hydrolytic breakdown within 7 to 14 days without tissue reaction, granuloma formation, or scarring.

Malleable & Non-Fraying

Can be cut to any desired size without fraying. Conforms seamlessly to irregular tissue surfaces, bleeding cavities, and endoscopic channels.

100% Plant-Based Purity

Synthesized pure alpha-cellulose matrix completely free from animal-derived collagen or gelatin, eliminating transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) risks.

Multi-Format Availability

Manufactured in standard knitted fabric, structured high-density layers, cotton-like fibril layers, and fine absorbable powder for laparoscopic delivery.

Technical FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions by Medical Procurement Teams

Key information regarding clinical handling, storage, registration support, and OEM manufacturing for Hemonet ORC hemostat.

How does Hemonet ORC achieve surgical hemostasis?
Upon contact with blood, Hemonet absorbs blood fluids and swells into a dark-colored gelatinous mass. This structure acts as a physical matrix that promotes microvascular blood platelet aggregation, initiating rapid coagulation within 60 to 90 seconds independently of the patient's physiological clotting factor mechanism.
Is Hemonet safe to leave inside the patient post-operatively?
Yes. Hemonet is 100% bioabsorbable and is completely broken down by macrophage phagocytosis and enzymatic hydrolysis within 7 to 14 days. Once hemostasis is established, excess hemostat should be removed from the application site, particularly near bony foramina or nerve pathways, to avoid pressure complications.
Does Hemonet possess antibacterial properties?
Yes. As Hemonet dissolves in blood fluids, it creates a localized acidic environment (low pH). In-vitro testing demonstrates that this low pH exerts bactericidal activity against a broad spectrum of pathogenic microorganisms, including MRSA, MRSE, E. coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
What registration documents are available for overseas hospital tenders?
We provide a complete technical file package including CE MDR Certificate, ISO 13485:2016 Certificate, Free Sale Certificate (FSC), WHO-GMP Certificate, Batch Certificate of Analysis (CoA), Sterility Validation Protocol, Biocompatibility Summary (ISO 10993), and multi-language Instructions for Use (IFU).
Can Hemonet be customized for private label or OEM brands?
Yes. Suture Planet offers comprehensive OEM and private label manufacturing. We can configure fabric densities, sheet sizes, primary sterile foil artwork, outer box packaging, GS1/UDI barcoding, and local language IFUs according to distributor requirements.
