Netsynth — Polydioxanone (PDO) Sutures
Synthetic Monofilament Absorbable Sutures for Extended Wound Support & Fascia Closure. ISO 13485:2016 & CE Certified Manufacturing with Full Batch Traceability.
Extended Tissue Support Profile
Netsynth Polydioxanone (PDO) is a sterile synthetic monofilament absorbable surgical suture designed for applications requiring extended soft tissue approximation. Manufactured from 100% pure polyester poly(p-dioxanone), Netsynth delivers the highest tensile strength retention among synthetic absorbables, ensuring reliable support during critical fascia healing up to 6 weeks.
Predictable Hydrolysis & Superior Knot Security
Engineered to meet USP and European Pharmacopoeia (EP) monograph standards for synthetic absorbable monofilament surgical sutures.
Extended Strength Retention
Retains approx. 70% of initial tensile strength at 14 days post-implantation and 50% at 28 days. Ideal for slow-healing tissues such as fascia and abdominal wall closures.
Minimal Tissue Reaction
Smooth monofilament surface prevents bacterial capillarity and minimizes tissue trauma during passage. Extremely bio-inert polymer structure reduces postoperative inflammation.
Full Hydrolytic Absorption
Progressive absorption by hydrolysis is complete within 180 to 210 days. Suture mass reduces predictably without causing local tissue encapsulation.
| Implantation Period | Remaining Tensile Strength | Absorption Stage | Recommended Tissue Types |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14 Days (2 Weeks) | ≈ 75% Retention | Minimal Mass Loss | Subcuticular, Pediatric Cardiovascular |
| 28 Days (4 Weeks) | ≈ 50% Retention | Progressive Hydrolysis | Abdominal Fascia, Linea Alba |
| 42 Days (6 Weeks) | ≈ 25% Retention | Mass Reduction Begins | Orthopedic Capsule & Ligament Repair |
| 180 – 210 Days | 0% (Complete Absorption) | Eliminated via Metabolic Pathway | Fully Healed Tissue Matrix |
